Tips and Tricks for Creating Stunning Images
Portrait photography is a popular and rewarding genre, whether you're an amateur or a professional. If you're new to portrait photography and own a DSLR camera, there are a few tips and tricks you can use to improve your photos and make the most of your equipment. Here are some tips for portrait photography if you own a DSLR:

1. Blur the background: One of the benefits of using a DSLR camera is the ability to control the background blur in your photos. To create a blurry background, use a wide aperture (like f/1.8 or f/2.8) and focus on your subject's eyes. This will blur the background and draw attention to your subject.

2. Get close to your subject: Don't be afraid to get close to your subject when taking a portrait. This will help to create a more intimate and personal photo. Use a longer lens (like a 50mm or 85mm) to help you get close without having to physically move too close to your subject.

3. Practice your poses: Use Pinterest to find inspiration for posing. Save your favorite Instagram posts as you're browsing and keep them in one place so you can show it to your subject.  Also, try different angles and perspectives to add interest to a pose.

4. Experiment with post-processing: Once you have taken your photos, you can use post-processing software to enhance them. Experiment with different techniques like giving your photos an old film look. Make them black&white in som

5. Timing is everything: The best time of day for portrait photography is during the golden hour, which is the hour just before sunset and the hour just after sunrise. The soft and warm light during these times can create beautiful and natural-looking portraits. I personally am not a morning person, so if you are like me, you may want to stick to shooting during the hour just before sunset. If you're shooting during the middle of the day, try to find a shaded area to shoot in, as direct sunlight can create harsh shadows on your subject's face.

6.Face the light: The most important element of photography is lighting. Make sure you pay attention to the direction and quality of light and position your subject accordingly. Positioning your subject in a way that plenty of light falls on them will help to create a well-lit, natural-looking portrait. This could be achieved by positioning your subject to face the sun, window, or the open sky. In the image below, I have used flash.

By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to creating beautiful and engaging portraits with your DSLR camera. Remember to have fun and to experiment with different techniques to find what works best for you. Happy shooting!
